MADAM MEERKAT

The first and smallest of these creatures. To me the meerkat possesses an old world femininity. Therefore I designed her to reflect a victorian era. I had in my studio stock, a vintage organdy blouse covered in tiny pin tucks and delicately embroidered flowers. A garment too worn in areas to ever be used. I was able to incorporate its many delicate details into its dress and continued to enhance its design with additional lace from that time period. Her ensemble is completed with lace pantaloons, felted wool bonnet and porcelain button up boots. She sits in your hand as any fine porcelain doll of long ago.
