BIO

I grew up in Los Angeles in the 60’s amongst a great family of love and outdoor enthusiasts. It was a complete childhood of pets, backpacking and days at the beach. We were taught about the beauty of the world and how to create with our hands. I was given a lot of freedom. I could drive a nail to build, sew clothing on my own and make a fire at camp at a very young age. I have busy productive hands. It began with a passion for fabrics and design. I went to school for fashion and graduated with a degree in Fashion Design. After graduation I started a business in custom bridal gowns that continued for the next 40 years. I still live in LA with my husband, giant dog, giant tortoise and a school of large goldfish. We raised three kids and have two grandsons and still get out into the great wide open as often as we can. It was in 2007 that I was introduced to clay in an evening adult class. I was instantly taken with its touch. At the time I had to keep my two passions separate. I loved both worlds, but one of fine fabrics, laces and gowns did not mix well with the dirt and grime of ceramics. I recently retired from my business of gown making. My home studio is now divided into three areas, ceramics, painting and home sewing. I am now able to totally immerse myself in clay and design. My work in ceramics is detailed in texture and usually possesses some layer of life and nature, my mind is constantly working on ideas and ways to interweave both. I cannot wait to see where this next part of life and creating take me.
