MOOCH

The concept of the clown sculpture started first with its costume.  I was intrigued with the intense colors and whimsical nature of the circus. I envisioned something over the top and wild. I pulled these crazy silk prints from my stock pile of fabrics. Now, I had the costume designed without a creature. I was naturally drawn to the Mandrill because of his outlandish coloring and he just puts a smile on your face. He seemed to be a perfect character to enhance the costume of the clown. And in the making and finishing of this character, Mooch’s personality grew perfectly to one of comical chaos.
